Senior Exploration Geologist
GeoPool is looking for experienced exploration geologists to organize and manage our field operations. The position is permanent and starts at the earliest convenience. The workplace is located either in our Finnish or Swedish headquarter offices, or you can work flexibly remotely. The position includes infrequent travelling to project localities.
Work tasks
- Managing exploration activities (diamond drilling, geochemical surveying, trenching, etc.)
- Planning of exploration activities
- Interpretation of results and reporting
- Managing and mentoring personnel
- Communication with landowners and stakeholders
- Communication with clients and contractors
- Establishing HSE and quality control procedures
- Project budgeting and making contracts
We expect from you
- At least 10 years’ experience in exploration and/or mine geology
- MSc or higher degree in Geosciences
- Knowledge of the Mining Act and associated laws
- Good written and oral proficiency in Finnish/Swedish and English
- Strong social and communication skills
- Experience of a manager position or similar
- Driving licence B
- Commitment to safe and environmentally sustainable working procedures
Considered an asset
- Degree in Geology or Environmental Sciences
- Competent Person/Qualified Person Certificate
- Capability to travel in the Nordic countries
- Experience with HSEQ procedures
- Experience with GIS / 3D modelling
- Experience with databases (e.g. Access)
